When we started our business we made the choice to support the pet professionals caring for our pets by creating a fund raising program for them. In speaking to these organizations over the last several months one message has been heard repeatedly; “We are full and we are looking for funds to support our efforts”.
The great thing about working with these organizations is that you are constantly amazed by the efforts that many people are making to save and care for homeless pets. We have spoken to people that have given up portions of their homes to make room for abandoned pets; people that find others to care for pets when a person has to go into hospice or the hospital for extended stays and many other incredible stories like this.
The least we can do it is donate to support their efforts. Through our program pet owners are able to purchase products they want or need at a good price and support a great cause at the same time. We know how hard it is for these organizations to raise money – between the staff needed to run a fund raiser to actually paying for the event the organizations can end up spending between $0.20 and $0.40 per dollar raised.
We will be creating a general fund starting May 1, 2010 and will be donating funds raised starting in August 2010 to organizations based on submissions from the organizations or supporters of the organizations.

How does my organization qualify for funds from this program?
Simply provide information about your organization using the application on our site. We need to verify that your organization is legitimate and providing services for pets.
How will we know if we are to receive funds?
Bene-Pet’s My Pet Warehouse will contact you directly if you are to be a recipient of the funds. We will communicate the amount and date of the donation prior to issuing a check. Once the organizations have been selected, communication about the recipients will be made public.
How can we ensure that we receive funds to support our efforts?
In addition to the general fund that is being created for sales though the Bene-Pet's My Pet Warehouse site, Bene-Pet's offers Animal Shelters, Rescues and other similar organizations branded web sites for their programs. There is no charge for these sites and up to 10% of all product sales generated through these sites is paid directly to the organization.
How is the donation paid out?
The donation is paid via company check from Bene-Pet's My Pet Warehouse. If the recipient organization elects, they may receive all or part of the donation in the form of store credit at 1.3 times the dollar amount for a maximum of 13%. For example if the donation is $1,000 the store credit would be $1,300. The store credit can be used for any of the products sold on our site at the discretion of the management of your organization.
Are there any other programs for our organizations?
The Bene-Pet’s Shop, Save and Support Partner Program creates a personalized online pet store for partner organizations. Payments up to 10% of product sales from the partner’s site are paid directly to the partner organization. The online store can be added as a link to the partner’s existing web site or you can send supporters to the site directly with the URL we provide for you.
There are no fees for this program for partners that sign up at this time and Bene-Pet is responsible for all operations and related costs of managing the site and fulfilling the orders. Partners are provided with tools (Support Tools) to help them promote the site to their supporters including announcements, wish lists, counter cards and/or other materials.
For organizations that sign up for both the Shop, Save and Support Partner and Pet Professional Discount programs, the combined discount will be up to 15% off the product cost (5% Pet Professional Discount plus 10% Shop, Save and Support payment).

The Bene-Pet’s Pet Professional Discount Program has been designed to allow organizations and/or individuals involved with pet care to receive a discount on products purchased from both the My Pet Warehouse online pet store and our partner’s online pet stores managed by Bene-Pet. The member will be provided a registration code when they sign up as a member customer of the online store and the price displayed will be up to 5% less than the regular store price shown to non-members.For organizations that sign up for both the Shop, Save and Support Partner and Pet Professional Discount programs, the combined discount will be up to 15% off the product cost (5% Pet Professional Discount plus 10% Shop, Save and Support payment).
